Maybe the wolves saw red and felt danger too. What’s the scariest thing in these woods? I think it’s a naive girl without a care. Walking slowly into danger. Hoping to find it in her own, twisted way, just to say she defeated it. Maybe her parents never explained how creatures need more than a smile to feel fed and the woods make everything more appetizing. If the wolves are retaliating then maybe they just want their land to be theirs again. Who showed their teeth first, anyways? The walls around you aren’t dark, you just can’t see past this.
